Okuma cz12. dog spring upgrade.
After one year, it felt wrong.
Floating dogs, fail.  My Trinidad failed. My Cortez 12 ,was failing. The A.R. bearingwas working but the dog stopped.
The solution : a ballpoint pen spring. Bend the spring around the dog,  cut it to fit, then hot glue it in. This also works for Trinidad,  and thorium reels if you don't want to wait for parts.

I would like to add these are excellent reels for the price. They have almost identical guts as a Trinidad or Torium. The spool bearing cleans up easily, and the bridge has a bearing,  it cleans up well. Crack the shields add T.S.I oil. They spin like a tops for flylining, but most important they have an amazing magnetic  cast control, "that works!",so you can throw iron all day and never backlash.

The only drawback is the reel is plastic.
But one positive is that it is plastic. It won't rust.

I saw a Torium on a boat that looked like it was melting. Salt kills.
It's basically a plastic Trinidad with the best cast control you can buy.

43 inch line retrieve in the 10 and 12, nice. I don't need one, but looks like a great reel.

The cast control is a pig. While it works well, as soon as you get some salt into the magnets, they corrode and then swell and bind the spool.
