Safe travels Chad, sounds like you have a modern day wagon train!  Look forward to hearing after you settle in. - john

Safe travels Chad!,
drove by your sharking beach yesterday,
I'll bet they're glad to see you go.
Looks like a great place, so much to do right by your house you won't get any work done.
Best of luck in your new digs

If you are going up 395 to 80 or over a little further East up through Walker Lake -- to intersect 95 North.

Try to make Winnemucca your night stop -- anything North of there in Northern Nevada I do not recommend.

One time, we pushed it as far as McDermitt -- ended up at the "Diamond A" Motel at 9:00 PM.  Clerk came to the window in Pajamas, either drunk or high -- we got a room in the back.  This is the only place we have ever stayed where we layed a tarp across the bed -- then slept in our sleeping bags.  We would not use the bathroom -- or even touch anything in there.  We still laugh about this night.  And we are wilderness backpackers -- this place was beyond disgusting.  If we hadn't of been dead tired and not wanting to face the clerk again -- we would have just slept in the car.

However, a little further up the road is a small restaurant not to be ever missed.  The Old Basque Inn -- in Jordan Valley, Oregon.  Fantastic food, reasonably priced, great service.  5 stars!

Have a safe trip -- and Winnemucca has lots of good motels, food, and services -- then a straight shot up North.

Best wishes for a safe trip and touchdown, Chad.

Best, Fred
