How can you tell the model number on a Zebco Cardinal that is missing the identifying badge?

Midway Tommy

The drag knob is the easiest way on a 3 or 4. The bail trip mechanism is the same design on the 6 & 7, the 7 has just a little longer finger.

Post a couple of photos & I'll tell which one it is.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)

Trying to determine Model and value

Steve,

Cardinal 3, from October 1975. It looks to be in pretty nice shape but it is missing its line roller & protecting washer. They are inexpensive & easy to come by. All model use the same washer & roller. The second photo makes it look like paint might be worn off the front of the stem. If so that means a lot of use. That may just be a reflection since the rest of the reel doesn't show much wear. The medallion only really matters if it's a collector piece. If it's a user it makes no difference in value.

$75 - $100 if the stem is a reflection. $50 - $75 if the paint is worn.
