My baby brother jut dropped off an old Penn 309 that belonged to our father. I was shocked when he said I can have it when I offered to PM it for him. WOW! Almost fell over

He didn't think too much of it. It's on a heave 8' rod with a 2 oz. weight. I opened the bail and sent it across the pasture about 150'. his jaw dropped a couple of inches and I helped him pick it back up. 'Want to try it ?".......No!
I was reeling it back up and he said. You gonna get it hung up on something out there. I told him, "If I do, whatever it is will be right up here with us in just a minute !"

This thing is a WINCH !

Before I open this up and before I place my order for new power handles and drag stacks for these other reels. Anyone know right off the top of your head if the Penn 309 takes the same old HT-100 Penn CF drag stack ?

Thanks again Fellers

here's' your schematic.  https://www.mysticparts.com/PennParts/Penn309M.aspx

it takes three of the penn ht-100 #6-309 drag washers.  i use a carbontex drag washer under the main gear.  it's the same as the one in the jigmaster set.  you can actually just order up the jigmaster drag set from http://smoothdrag.com/price.html and get everything.
send me an email at alantani@yahoo.com for questions!
