Here,s a short clip of a how to,  using the loops to wind the wraps makes this knot pretty easy to tie,  if you fingers are cold,
Whats some other names for it?   Is it as strong as the sandiago type?    I dunno.

RowdyW

I think it is similar in results to a uni-knot when tied with doubled up braid.      Rudy

Like a double San Diego with one less step at the end
Do what you can with that you have where you are

Similar to a Seaguar knot used to tie braid to a leader.

twice-through-eye uni (Fish'n Fool?) is much smaller/neater
is that big mess w/ tag ends all over, any stronger?

Ron Jones

Nope,
The biggest halibut I caught with Ted in 19 was on a 800 gram Norwegian jig that I attached directly to 65# Power Pro with a 3 pass surgeon's loop. THe fish was deeper than 500 ft.

It just isn't that hard.

How is that not just a plain old clinch knot with the line doubled?

I agree with Dave.....a double clinch knot.  I used that knot when tying a 2 oz jig to 20 lb mono, when jigging for salmon on the Sacramento River....never had a knot failure, even after a couple 🍻....Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!
