I just acquired this good old and never used Abu role in an online auction in Sweden for a small amount because nobody was interested in it.
Soon this beauty will smell salt water and see its first fish. Before that it needs to be lubed

It has quick take-apart.  That will let you access just about everything except the drag washers.  I guess drag washers are pretty important though.  If you tear into it take pictures.

excellent.. I have a well-worn one, still is a fine reel. Might replace the gears and get ceramic bearings for it, if I ever get to do much saltwater again.. living in CO I don't have much call for a reel that size..

I have two of these that were made in the mid-70's and they are tough reels. Both of them are used for surf fishing. That is a great find for sure.

Nice ... I have 2 of them, a 7000 and a 7000C. I believe the red one is the 7000 that has bushings and the black one is the 7000C that has bearings...
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cool
I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6...
