308 date

I just got a nice 308 on ebay s/n 208309 when would it have been manufactured?

I have seen a 308 with SN 269297 on another site dated to approximately 1963-4.  Based on this, yours might be 1962-3.  These reels, prior to 1967, had a spring-loaded handle, which might also help to date yours, although handles are easy enough to change.
