Friends:

Getting ready for an upcoming trip, need to change the handle knob on a 16s.

It is the "permanently" riveted kind with a blind rivet on the underside of the handle blank.

The plan is to remove the rivited knob, and install a stock Penn knob complete with a screw in rivet from a 30s into the handle blank.

How best to remove the OEM riveted knob and rivet stem?  Do not want to mar the gold anodized handle blank.

Thanks in advance!

And also his 5/0 handle is AWSOME!     👍👍

IMO- shelve that handle assembly and get an SS blade and knob from Alan to fish. I did that on all of my Int's. Cadillac. zero failure. Period.

Alan:

Not yet.  Will prolly order one from you, but want to assemble a fuller shopping list first for both the 16s and a couple 12LT's.   Looks like the 12's have the same sleeve size as the 500's, so pretty small.

Whit, you are correct- I put Alan's smaller blade (500 sleeve sized hole) on my 12T's with his 3/0 knob. Everything now matches and is a nice upgrade. The stock 12T keg knob is small for my sausage fingers.
