Always used Zebcos when I was a kid. Stopped fishing for long time. Then got into salt water fishing. Purchased a Zebco 777 on eBay. Anybody know line specs?  Any opinions on reel?  Thanks.

I believe Mike (Mo) has this one; he or Henry will chime in. I'd think it'd hold 175 yds of 17lb or thereabout, based on what i know of 888.

Zebco bought out Langley lock stock and Barrels in early 60.s and started in the Spinning reel bidness
Here is a pic. from Fishing Talks by dustyjoe I found that gives some info and Yardage of the 777.
Says 350 yds of 6#. Neat old Reels.

I have a lot of those Zebco's and Langley's — a few are nearly new and unfished.

They are well engineered reels built with good, solid materials.

I have just saved them for lamp bases.

Might pump out 3 or 4 dozen more lamps before the Holiday Season.
