The cost of charters have skyrocketed since the have limited the amount of people on board. Its just not worth going after rock cod.

Fuel prices are also a factor.

At the Sacremento Airport offramp fuel was over $5.00 a gallon on Monday and it averaged over $4.75 on I5 in the New People's Democratic Republic of Norte California.  It is over $1.00 a gallon less north of the border, the OR/Cal border, and no one had it for $4.00.  Diesel is now $3.75 where I fill up, more than  100% increase since January.

Yes it has, but I can't say I agree with this statement. In fact RF trips are the best value going right now for the following reasons:

1-RF trips are consistently $50-$75 cheaper than most other trips.
2-You are all but guaranteed a full limit.
3-Bonus are lingcod in the mix & are not counted towards the 10 fish RF limit.

On top of that, if you're a lure angler like me, the lighter loads are the BEST situations for slinging jigs and staying out of tangles with the shrimpfly fishers.
