Abu black max vs "max x"

If my reading is correct the black max is being phased out in favor of the max x. I dont really see any difference between the two, specs wise. What has changed?

Also I bought a BFS spool for the lefty one I picked up, before deciding I like RHR baitcasters better. Do i need to run out and get a righty black max or will that spool fit in the max x?

Your spool will fit no problem.  As far as Black Max vs Max X, I'll need to pull schematics later and see if there are any noteworthy differences.  The spool on the Max X may be different from the old Black Max.  It could be wider, larger diameter, have a different length spool shaft, hard to say.  The offerings I'm seeing on AliExpress are different between the reels, so the spool may be different is my best guess.
