A while back i got a chance to fish on a friends boat for a days Halibut fishing.   We had fun catching a bunch of smaller fish on some jugs while we were anchored,   Pretty soon the tide started moving and this was a signal to switch gears,  put on a big bait and lead as I thought there were some bigger fish hanging around, waiting.
Here,s a clip of some fun we had.  The smallish Omoto did good,  for the money its OK .    Not reely wide butt not a narrow either.
it can produce about 20 pounds of drag,  shifts smooth and is positive feeling.  For less than $150 shipped it has potentiol.
Im thinking of replacing the pinion bearing with an angular contact bearing eventually to get it to like higher drag numbers as the bearing gets squished the winding is felt just barely.   Butt maybe we can live with it! ;)
