penn 112h and kolekar handle from fishermandan

Dropped in at Alan Tani's reel seminar this past Saturday at Western Sports in San Rafael. Alan hooked me up w/ a Pete Kolekar handle and new stainless steel gear sleeve for my 112H. Just finished installing them, along with a little Cal's grease on the drags. The handle is a big improvement from the little stock grip the reel came with. Can't wait to land a few Big mama rays with it. Anyways, here are a few pics of the upgrade...

The new Kolekar handle grip simple bolts on to the handle arm. However, the old grip was rivetted to the handle arm, so it needed to be drilled out.

On to the new Gear sleeve. The stock brass one is stripped big time:




Installed the new gear sleeve, greased the drag washers, and reassembled the reel. The upgrade is complete! Special thanks to Alan Tani.
