Hi Tom, nice to have you with  us, if your having trouble, with the strong currant, try a thin smooth braid line, 16 strand, I think 60 Lbs is 0.29 of a mm, Welcome from sunny Western Australia, cheers Don.

.  We are using whiplash braid around the 100lb mostly. The bottom fishing in the deep water are for a large species of skate(think stingray but without the barb) that can run up to say 300lb . Even with a full harness and short stand up rods with two speed reels you are still talking fight times running a up to a couple of hours. It's hard work in the big tides wee get in this part of the world..
