I have a 80W not shifting into free spool. I believe the drag spring washers are in the wrong configuration. I currently have them ()(). Is this the correct configuration?

Even with the springs in the wrong configuration your
reel should still go into free spool. With the wrong configuration you will get the spool rubbing on the frame or side plates but you should still be able to shift in to free school. Make sure when you're putting the lever on that it is in the free spool position.

sometimes there is corrosion that locks that drag pressure plate up against the spool.  sounds like it's going to have to come apart.

Can you pull  out the line at all in what would be Free Spool
or is it locked tight ?

This reel had like what I call "oil lacquer". Looks like old WD40 dried up. Cleaned all that up and polished the spool shaft and it's spline. When I pull the drag lever down to Free spool, I hear the the shaft pop like it should, but the spool is not as free as it should be. I have done a half dozen of these reels in this customer order. This one, the last one, is left me scratching my head
