I noticed on my Cardinal 3 the bail looks threaded on one end, maybe tapered some? Is it friction fit,or meant to screw into the bail arm, adjustable. I haven't noticed it on others, but it's my 1st Cardinal?

James, it's threaded and screws into the bail plate. Review my Cardinal 3 & 4 tutorials on bail to rotor installation on those steps. You'll need to remove the bail from the bail arm (other side) to do this.

I thread the bail all the way onto the bail plate and then back it off until it sits correctly against the rotor. You don't want it too tight. I do this first but you should be able to accomplish it without removing the bail plate or bail arm from the rotor and exposing the bail springs. You may have to remove the body from the rotor, though, to make it easier to turn the bail.
