Gents,

Good day

Been gone a very long time.

I just bought an Alvey 45C1.  Very nice condition.  Here's the issue.

It appears to be missing the Drag Lever (and Rivet).  When looking hard, the Drag Release ON/OFF Sticker is covering the Rivet Hole.

There isn't a Drag Lever on the 40.

Does anyone know if there was a 45 without the Lever, or any other permutation?.

Thanks
Steve

(You can just make out the Rivet Hole under the Sticker)

Unknown. I got this one(a 650 C5) from Donnyboat several years ago when he posted about the company possibly going out of business. You can see how the drag lever would look.
IMO, a "very Australian" product, the way I like my stuff: big, tough, and unrefined. No unnecessary pretty cosmetic features.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

Hi Gfish,

Yea.  That's the Leverarm that I was expecting but is not there.

If something happened to the Reel, and it was removed, the owner moved the Sticker to cover the hole and polished the Back to remove the evidence of the original location, which is not likely.

I wonder if there's some interchangeability, with the only identifying markings on the Pivot Spring?

Thanks..
