I love this work...the surprises never end!!

OK, for these reels I have them apart and found some silicon pads between the pressure plate and the clutch pad plate had disintegrated to gobs of goo..it was almost grease like inside. These are parts 123 and 124 of the diagram...

At first I thought it was a heavy coat of grease and most of it wiped off..some of it was still stuck to the plate.

Well, obviously without it the reel wont work. There is no direct drive once the drag is set. Handle turns tightly, but no spool movement.

And there are two reels, and they both seemed to suffer the same malady...and both are showing the same results.

How was this silicon disc applied? Was it part of the pressure plate? If I order new pressure plates will I get them with the silicon pads on them? Or is there another fix..?

These are the first beastmasters I have had my hands on, so it's still a learning experience....
