Shimano Tyrnos

Alan, am about to get a Tyrnos 16. You don't have these reels in your rebuild section. Any reason for this? Are they similar to TLDs inside?

i've just been swamped.  the tyrnos is a great reel.  it is very similar in design to the tld.  if you can service one, you can service the other.

Thanks Alan. Now have the reel. I assume that it only needs a 12 month service and nothing to do before taking it for its 1st reef trip?

i actually like to see the reel serviced first, as is the case with most.  it can save you alot of trouble down the line.  alan

i bought 7 tiagra's every one had limited amount of grease. the spool bearings were greased with white grease, the crank or main gear bearings had none. go thru it first you wont regret it. great  reels but id prefer a little more lube,wouldnt hesitate to buy shimano again. a former penn only man.
