I think I made a mistake and sent the only to Alan, if so sorry Alan. Help anyone.

Hi to everyone, I have a very nice Shimano Triton Trolling Series 50. I got it from a friend who was closing his tackle store. I paid $100 for it new. Some years ago I had Cal two speed the reel. I think it cost me more to two speed it than I paid for the reel. Anyway the reel has a gradual drag curve. With free spool it pulls about 40 lbs. at full. Is there a way to increase the drag? I seem to remember Cal telling me he could not do it. I looked back thru the 23 pages of Shimano posts. I only found two posts about this reel. Soon I will be using it, I intend to put Alans handle on it. Also in the future can the canvas drag be replaced with the good stuff? Oh I have only opened this reel one time and that was years ago.

40 pounds of drag would be the limit for most reels in that class.  not sure about the availability of a carbon fiber drag washer.  smoothdrag.com might have one.  if you need a handle, i can send one out. just need an address.   ;D
send me an email at alantani@yahoo.com for questions!

I made the carbon fiber drag washer for my 30, which is a narrow version of the 50. I just cut it out of a sheet of carbon fiber with scissors and used a Dremmel to cut the 4 slots in the center. I believe I used the 1.2mm thick sheet, which should be the same as the canvas washer

I came to this thread looking for a CF drag washer for the TTS-50. However I get the impression that there is not any, that they have to be manually cut from 1.2mm CF sheet stock.

Is this still the case in 2021, or has someone produced one. I ask because ive already searched and none popped out at me.
