Belleville questions

Hi Alan,

Do you know a good source for stainless Bellevilles please? While I've been pulling down reels for years, I've learned heaps since devouring all your information and I want to experiment with improving/changing the drag performance of a couple of my reels.

I'd also like to know that whether it's ok or desirable to switch styles of bellevilles and whether there are benefits in doing so. Some of my smaller reels have washers that are only curved in one direction... like a (   ...I'm guessing they have a name... I just don't know it I imagine a cupped belleville is more efficient at transferring pressure evenly.

i need to fine an alternate source for the shimano bellevilles.  for what they charge for their bellevilles, the upgraded reels should be able to crank themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone explain to me if there's a standard way to measure bellevilles for ordering.  id x od is obvious but how do I determine the deflection angle of a belleville in a reel if I want replacements?  A local source is talking about M6, M8 etc bellevilles... what is this a measure of please?


And just while I'm posting.... Alan, a great big thank you for your recommendations of Boca and Smooth Drag.  I've had great experiences with service, speed and communication with both of them.  Dawn in particular is fantastic.
