Please go to last page for some history on Penn, this was posted on one of our local South African websites, the story of a local legend angler that made his own reels and then some history on the Penn 49a that was developed locally by shore based tuna spinfishermen. The sharks were mostly killed in those days, hope the pics of dead sharks and people catching them without gloves don't offend  :)
