Hello,

My first post is about my new Ryoga 1016L and a RCS 1012 lightweight spool.
Have noticed that the spool shaft ends have a very raw surface. High end products made in Japan, looks strange to me.
I will be happy if anyone can tell the purpose with this raw surface!

the raw surface on the side of the spool shaft /inductor is intentional!

it is to improve the ''grip'' between the shaft and the spool bearing! so fret not!

and what ever u do, do not polish the sides, tolerances will be shot to helllll and your bearing will only function as a bushing then...

Very clear and informative, thank you!
This is my first advanced baitcaster and I have not seen this on my classic Ambassadeur's

Thank you Alan!!! I really appreciate your help, and it will be a pleasure to share my works in this forum. I work essentially on pike, and bass baitcasting reels, and also surf casting reels. See you soon !
Thanks Frank
