Shimano Dartanium Drag Problems..!!

I received a box full of Shimano Trinidads and Toriums today that were just needing a regular service as stated by the owner.

This is what I found on the first one..!!

This is very common. The solid carbon disks don't allow the release of the metal drags then start to break. Carbontex is the way to go. Looks like you'd better buy a bunch.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Or Dartanium II, the original Dartanium drag washers were not that good.

switch to carbontex from dartanium in my curado when the washers started to get sticky and so far so good...

I had the Carbontex on hand and told him I would be changing them anyway. He was amazed when I sent the pics..!!

i'm sure he'll have an ear to ear smile when the reel gets tested while fighting a fish... :)
