In a long run you'll be better off. If you do a lot of fishing, just clean it often and it will always perform as it should.
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Have to agree with Sal here.
Wise decision. 
These line rollers work great as they are,it's only when ball bearings are introduced that they have issues.
An annual service on my 650SS is all it ever needs and without having to replace bb's every year.
