I found a SS gear in 3.25:1 for the Penn 113H and changed out the gears in my 454 from BP's 4:1.  It is not as smooth but with the narrow, taller spool I think I just made a very decent grouper special.  Gonna try to fish it a little bit next week on my 2 days trip but I will mostly be fishing the Fin-nor Lethal 100 more.

Your 454 with a lower ratio will probably work nicely to fish a dropper loop on the bottom.

The only 454 I know how to gear down is a Big Block Chevy. ;)
4:10 Posi with a Muncie 4 speed. ;D

Shark Hunter.. A 454 Pro Gear is an all aluminum narrow 4/0 that has 4 to 1 gear ratio and accepts most of the parts found in a Penn 113H, as well as the aftermarket parts and modifications. Muncie, Hurst shifters, and Holley Carbs don't fit. :)
