As a preview of the features for the 2 new fathom series, here is the PENN catalog page for those two.

Sweet.
I want a 40N and a 25N.

Interesting how much faster the 40 high speed single speed (FTH40NLDHS) is (7.1:1/ 60") over high speed gear set (5.01:1/42") in the 2 speed models.  Too bad they don't offer an interchangeable high speed main and pinion for the FTH40NLD2.

This from the catalog page.  Here are a lot of fancy words to say we grease the drags.   :D Dominick

"Our Dura-Drag material contains a special
Phenolic bonding agent that prevents
premature breakdown of the carbon fiber
material while providing a barrier to water.
We then pretreat each drag washer with
a special compound developed by PENN
engineers.....say good by to jerky drags."
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Don, I think they grease their drag AND are now using laminated CF only with Phenolic vise Fiber Glass like some of us are doing with the hex drags.

I think the weave on the DuraDrag CF is also slightly different...a bit denser thread count on the relatively coarse weave?
