Revo inshore freespool issues

I have 2 nearly new abu revo inshore reels, the silver ones, and ever since they were brand new they haven't casted for crap.  The reel feels so tight I have to loosed the cast control knob way out and it they still can't cast a lure any real distance.  Anyone come across this specific issue with these reels?  I have 5 or 6 revo sx's and they're great.  Not sure if there's something systemically wrong with the castability/bearings or whatever with the inshore.  Never used in salt so corrosion is not it.  Planning to either try the tsi or send them in for a servicing but not sure it's worth having someone servicing a nearly brand new reel.
