STRIPER LOU

Hi All and Merry Christmas!!!!
I have several Monofil's I'm going to narrow but don't know the post length. They will be using 29L-100, 29M-100, or 29M-27. The spool width on the 29M-27 is about 1.675/1.680. I have a bunch of reels to convert and I'm going to make all the post's myself to save a few bucks.
If anyone can measure one up or have one I can borrow or purchase it would be most appreciated.

Here's a few pics of a Spinner Knob I just finished on my lathe. Its going on a gray Monofil. The color is a blue/black/pearl. Wish I new how to take better pictures!

Hi Lou,
Can't help with the posts, but that's a beautiful knob you made!

Be well.

I've got posts from a Mariner 49, that measure 1.625 Dia. .219 . They should be the same. 49 stand also fits a Monofil 27.

Rowdy, thanks bud,
I don't have the bases yet but it makes sense as the replacement base for the 27 is a 30-49. I didn't want to waste any material so I was being cautious. Thanks all on the knob comments. I've been experimenting with them for a while now. In addition to the round spinner knob, I have some long power handles I'm working on.
The material is a marbled acrylic and the colors are truly amazing.
Will post some up soon!

Sharp looking handle knob Lou, but it appears a little on the small size...it might just be me.
Keep in mind, some of us have big hands, a 50mm in diameter might be nice, along with a 30mm shaft.

Thanks for the input Sal, most appreciated, just trying stuff out now. I have about 7 or 8 different styles I've drawn up. The blue one was made from a scrap piece. Material is expensive and trying not to waste anything. When your rolling your own your only limited to the materials available.
I think in the knob style 1.5 will be the smallest (one pictured 1.312) and about 1.0 the smallest on the long power handles. At the moment, up to 2" od is available so any custom size up to that could be made. Waiting on a special knurling tool for the spinner portion.

As you already know, my input is always meant in a good way. Those are nice knobs, that black marbleized material that you showed me earlier looks even better.

Hey, no problem at all Sal, that's how we learn. I have small hands and when I see a big handle on a small reel it kinda looks out of place for me. They also put a lot of stress on the reel.
Also, you can draw it up a hundred times and it looks good, then you make it and say what was I thinking. The long power handles for the small reels were very tough both in trying to get it to look good and work well. Still at it and making some progress but have a long way to go! I'll make sure I keep you guys with the bigger hands in mind.
