I was planning to replace the bearings in this reel but was unable to do so because the bearing was staked in. (Kept in place by crimping the edges of the bearing housing.  Is there a recommended tool for the removal of this bearing for this situation?

Thanks,

I use a large socket from a tool set. I then lay the bridge on the socket with the open side down so the bearing can fall out. I then use a 1/4' nut driver and tap the bearing out. You can use another deep socket or something similar that will fit into the bearing housing to tap it out. I just finished one today.

You may need to dremel those tabs before the bearings may come out.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

the bearing "cup" needs to be fully supported, then you can simply pound out the old bearing, clean up with burrs left from the stakes and slip in a new bearing.
