I have a question regarding reels and line size for shark fishing. What a rough estimate on needed reel size and line strength for specific size shark. I shore fish on the gulf side of Florida. I have 9/0 that I'm going to kayak bait out.

Yes,
Dacron Here! :D
I spool all my 9/0's with straight 80lb mono. It limits your capacity, but You need that abrasion resistance. Ideally, back it with JB Hollow then the 80lb on top.
When you hook into a big one that the 9/0 can't handle. Its time to step up to a 12/0. ;)
Spool it with straight 100 lb Sufix Superior. Unless you are a body builder, that should be all you can handle. :P
I personally fish a 12 and a 14/0, both spooled with straight 130lb mono. Exsum is the brand I use.
You need anything sharkman, just drop me a pm.
