Check out this screwdriver set at Brownells. Looks like a great deal for reel repair. Price $34.95

Bondhus Ergonomic Precision Screwdriver Kit
Adjustable Shafts with Interchangeable Bits to Fit and Reach Small Screws — a Gun Shop and Work Bench Must-Have!
Driver system has six interchangeable steel shafts with 12 precision-ground bits for fast change from standard slot blade to Phillips or Torx tip. Great for working on the many small parts and accessories found in most gun shops and hobbyist work benches. Collet lets you adjust the shaft length approximately 3" to get to those hard-to-reach places. Rotating cap minimizes friction to ease screw removal or installation, while the hanging hole in the handle can be used with a second shaft as a T-handle for extra leverage to remove stubborn screws. Handle has a soft, ergonomic, rubber outer-grip for comfort and excellent grip.

Yes Alan I have been a business customer of Brownells since 1972 and I probably own most of the tools on that page and then some. Great thing about Brownells as well as there tools is there 100% guarantee.

That set I was pointing out looks like something that most Reel repair guys could use, it's a nice set.

Received the screwdriver set a few weeks ago and it is a nice set, great for small work like fish reels. Here is a picture.

+1 cant get that sort of thing here in Aus. Our specialist tool shops look at these tools and mostly the store employees stand there gob smacked!

Really hard to get good tools, we're too far from anyone to get the nice gear.

That's a shame Slazmo. Can you have someone ship it to you? What's the reason for such restricted availability on tools?

I think it'sthe cost aassociated with the tools themselves.  Seems like Stanley and Crescent are the leaders in  cheap and cheerful drivers.

I'd like to buy a good set of German made driversfor my pursuits however just 'unobtaium' via the normal channels.

looking through eBay the prices are relatively the same however postage is usually fixed at $50 to Aus...

Cheers.

I have been using screw driver sets from Chapman Manufacturing they have allsorts of sets that are great for Firearms and Reels. http://www.chapmanmfg.com/ there is always someone travelling to the US that can bring stuff home to save the postage.

I can understand why you guys have a problem buying mail order at $50.00 a pop. That's almost $20.00 more then that set cost. There are other distributors out there like Chapman yes. I use Brownells  simply because I have used them since I started gunsmith work and they have a 100% return policy on all of there tools if broken no matter how long you have them.
