I'm trying to clean up 4 of these for a friend, and change out the plastic drag washers to carbontex, which I have done. Problem is that two of them went back together fine and work great. But on the other two the spool is tight, and won't release when the free spool lever is engaged. The assembly on these seems so backwards, as you build the right side upside down underneath the so called set plate. Anyway, what seems to be the culprit is the pinion gear in the yoke carriage does not seem to be aligning well with the spool shaft. Anyone else experience this and have an inexpensive solution? These reels can be bought for like $40-50 new, so don't want to be putting a whole lot of expense into them, just want to get them functional. Thanks!
