Hi all,
I have a Penn GLS25 that's causing much consternation and gnashing of teeth.
Like the version in this post, it has two screws in the dog bridge (and only one dog fitted).
This contrasts with the GLS25 posted here (http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=1322.0), which has a single screw in the dog bridge and two dogs fitted.

I have a new pinion gear, plus a second dog, bridge etc which I've endeavored to fit. However, the new dog is substantially larger than the original, is stainless rather than brass, and doesn't want to fit.
Also, the new pinion gear is a millimeter longer and half a mil wider than the old one. Even allowing for wear, this seems a lot.
It makes a racket when fitted, despite the main gear showing no visible wear.
It has the correct part number on the original Penn envelope, ie 013P025, but I'm wondering if there may've been an earlier model, ie an N appears on some spec diagrams.
I can live without the double dog, but clearly not the pinion gear.
Any ideas?
It's so close to being perfect, ie new bearings throughout, greased drag, upgraded handle, fully serviced etc, but is just a fancy paperweight at present.
Thanks in advance, Justin (New Zealand)

Thanks a lot, Alan - you're a legend. Was just emailing Penn NZ and can now resolve the issue.
All the best,
Justin
