My buddy Ted sent me this picture of his garden. He did this for his wife and kept adding things here and there. As you can see, he's unstoppable, just like his reel collection ;D.
excellent work buddy, that garden looks amazing.

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

That's one way to earn brownie points for fishing gear and trips...

Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

No buddy, I can assure you that's not the case here, Max Doubt gets to do  lots of fishing.
A happy wife makes a happy fisherman ;), Ted knows what he's doing. ;D

Maxed Out

Fishing seasons are so regulated around my area that I have time to work around the house....and Sal is right, when the wife is happy it's time to go fishing !!

The picture only covers about 1/3 of the length of the back yard and it is done up same way. It helps me get in shape for the summer fishing season. Working with the blocks has been a learning experience. I never set any block walls before and had zero help, except a trusty 1' torpedo level and a old crusty wood 3' level and a good shovel and a little imagination and a lot of patience  :D ....and I have no desire to ever attempt such a dumb idea ever again. I have a new found respect for masonry professionals like Sal.

Hope springs eternal
for the consumate fishermen.

you can not grow anything where i live
anything green is invaded by bugs, snails, whatsies, thingmies,
eat the lot,except weeds.
i have water bore,it kills everything thats not eaten, its piosonous,
fresh water is taxed that high you cant afford to use it, it dont rain.
native plants are short,tough,stumpy,dont flower,
they dont need soil, a lot of them grow in sand.
anybody with a nice garden is rich, the rest go fishin ;D ;D

Reel 224

Ted: I have a question about the picture Sal posted. What's with all the high wood fences? I have a neighbor that put one of those up when he moved here about five years ago. Biggest "AH" I have ever met. I hope that's not the case in your neighborhood.

Pleeze don't show pictures like this again!  If my wife see these I,ll never have time to wrap a rod, grease a reel, or cut bait!    But it is a lot of work to have someting nice......and a lot of work to keep it up.   You did Great!

Ted,
Great job!!  Lots of work I am sure!!  At my age, I have trouble just keeping up with mowing and weeding. ;)

Reel 224:  In CA backyard fences of 5' to 6' are common.  A backyard without it would look strange to me!  ;) ;D
