I have a few older Jigmasters that I have revived.  Only problem is that on some, the extent to which the clicker had been allowed to rust makes it function poorly, and re-freeze rapidly.  Is there a SS upgrade for the left side plate on these?  Is there a simple method for remove/replace?  It seems like its peened in place.
Thanks!

If you have the 1989 post model, you may need to replace the entire sideplate to replace the clicker ring...

If you are ambitious and not faint of heart, you could order a nrw clicker ring, get the associated screws, go to a hobby store and get the correct threaded inserts, carefully drill out the peened pins with a drill press, and replace with threaded inserts or a helicoil system, and install a new clicker ring.  I have had dome sucess doing this on 12 and 14/0s, but even thrn it is sometimes just easier to replace the sideplate.  However, the USA-made/older red and black sideplates are no longer available new.  You can probably find one on EBAY that would work for you.

Hope that helps?

I've had a few clicker issues before. One was loose and it kept making this annoying noise. I just drilled it off. That one doesn't have a clicker now but I don't really use clickers much. I had a rust problem once that I solved by lightly sanding the rust off. To my surprise it cleaned up nicely.

You could post up a listing on here. Members have been known to help each other out with stuff like that. I have some other jigmaster parts if you need them.
