hey guys,

Was trying to help an acquaintance on the phone with his Avet 2-speed. Any one got any tips I can share with him on how to remove the gears to get at the pinion bearing (needs to be replaced).

I assume you go from the right side and remove the handle first to get the gears out of the way, but of course, this requires the 2-speed mechanism to be removed and he is stumped. I tried to help but not having done one myself it was pretty much impossible to figure out over the phone and just by looking at the schematic.

thanks in advance for any tips.

Both gears come out on the drive shaft.  Sometimes you have to tap the shaft out with a soft hammer.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

So you remove the 2-speed mechanism to do so just like a penn or accurate?

Or can you remove the gears directly?

thanks for the help keta.

The gears come off after the drive shaft assembly is removed from the frame.  BTW, the bolt is left hand thread.
