ok, i just spoke to my friend frank and he says they made room for us on the Fiesta.  it was originally scheduled as a half day boat, but they are changing it over to a 3/4 day for us!  i called Bruce at Virg's Landing and i have reservations for this friday for myself, joey fortina and his bass fishing buddy, adam andrews.  the three of us are confirmed.  i will need all of you to call into the shop and rebook.  glenn and morro bay landing will be sending you a refund separately.

http://virgslanding.com/ is their website address and their street address is 1169 market avenue, morro bay, ca 93442.  you will need to be at the shop at 6am.  you can buy bait, jigs or weights at the shop that morning.  from the shop, they will give us a small map to get us down the parking lot, then it's a short walk to the boat.  the boat disembarks at (i believe) 7am.  from there, it is a 1.5 hour run to the fishing grounds, we have 4 hours to fish, then a 1.5 hour run home.

dinner the night before is at the cayucos house, 17 - 16th street.  come by anytime after 3pm, have a beer!  figure dinner at 5-6pm.

whew!!!!  i think this is going to work.  alan

I'm in and I have a large soft side cooler if we need it Alan.
Let me know.

Thank you Chief for making this happen!
It helps to have connections.

Miss Mari and I will roll in to dinner about 6pm wine and beer in hand......
There is nothing like lying flat on your back on the deck, alone except for the helmsman aft at the wheel, silence except for the lapping of the sea against the side of the ship. At that time you can be equal to Ulysses and brother to him.

great!!!!

so, spoke to Pam at Virg's Landing.  Couple of things.  the trip is now a 3/4 day.  be at the shop at 6am, then down to the boat at 7am, buy bait and any other goddies at the shop, no ice chests on board, only a small lunch bag and a bag for fish (gunny sack) to hang from the rail, no alcohol, drugs or drug paraphernalia you can buy beer on board for $3, they also sell breakfast burritos and lunch items (snacks, chips), cash only.  they will filet rock fish for a buck each, ling cod for two bucks, there is a big fish jackpot if you want to get into it.

man, it's been a while since i've fished party boats.  i have to relearn the entire drill!

Yeah, like 5 days ago.  How soon we forget.  It looks like training once a week should do it.   :D ;D Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Somebody have Gunnysack they want to loan me?

No worries they sell them at the landing for a dollar or two.

I hope that this is not considered hijacking this thread, and if it is, please accept my apology, but just in case any of you guys will be in Morro Bay before 5:00PM on Thursday or Friday or are going to hang around on Saturday morning, there's a great little tackle/marine hardware store right next to the Virg's office up on the hill, Jerry's Marine and Tackle at 1158 Scott Street.  They will be open from 8-5 on Thursday and Friday and from 8 to noon on Saturday.  I try to keep Jerry's filled up with good used saltwater rods and reels at reasonable prices.  I delivered some fresh stock last night.  Here's a partial inventory of what's there as of today, May 20:

Randy,
We just booked an extra night for Friday just so I would not be rushed looking thru the inventory.
I found Jerry's at Thanksgiving last year and Miss Mari bought my Christmas present there!
Good Luck on your fishing trip.......

not a problem!  i always check out both shops when we are in the area.  i spoke to bruce at virg's and he only sells one pound trays of squid.  i called glenn and he is coming up to dinner on thursday.  i gave him a credit card number this morning and he is bringing us six of 5 pound blocks of squid and 10 gunny sacks tomorrow afternoon.
send me an email at alantani@yahoo.com for questions!

I can bring a large soft cooler for drinks and stuff.  I can get a bag of ice and we can pack what ever we need to...If placing bait in the cooler bag, I hope we can put a trash back in it first to protect it so it doesn't get all stinky.
