ABU 12 Sideplates material?

Hi Guys
Can someone tell me what the side plates on the ABU 12 are made of please?

Just did a little research and found they are brushed chrome, so am assuming that is chromed brass.They feel a little heavy for aluminium.
The inner sideplates are black chromed.

Yes guys
You are right with brass being used on the side-plates of the Ambassadeur 12.
It is the same reel as the Striper 8600
and I believe the old rare blue Ambassadeur 8500
I found an old 8500 with most blue paint removed and it shows up as brass too,'Polishes nice to appear as a Gold 8500.
I indulged in this luxury as I already had a near mint blue 8500.

The Abu 12's came in two types of finishes. They were known as Chromies and Frosties - one shiney and one not. Both had brass plates.

Yes, my memories from the eighties are that the one in my "Tight Lines" catalogue looked like a light grey colour compared to this one`s silvery look.
