quantum exo 300spt

here is a look at the guts of exo300spt bait caster after fishing 12 months or more
caught plenty of fish on it with no problems.big and small.there are some pics on here somewhere
when i 1st opened the box i said "wow" plenty of paper work,2 handles and it looked great
left side plate comes off easy,then spool,you now have 3 pieces
next handle,star,spring washers,washer,bearing
right plate has 3 outside screws,1 inside,gives access to drag
now we can see it
huge brass main gear,it has 6 washers +hat.i have swapped them around a dozen or more times
and its not necessary,but thats just me.
(standard original set),eared ceramic,carbon fibre,metal keyed,c/f,eared ceramic,metal keyed,metal hat washer
these are large washers,love em.others in the pic are what ive been playing with.
white delrin washer  under the main,standard, not mine.
what a surprise!!! double dogs+ar bearing
under the dogs are very tiny delrin washers,1 each
alan hawk did a different reel and it had these washers
he said"very nice touch"  so its a very nice touch.
brass pinion gear,plastic yoke.
the reel is very comfy,light,cast well,
quote, 260 yds x 50lb braid,22lb drag.
i loaded mine with 20lb braid and fish 5lb at strike
not sure how much braid,350yds +? i take my exo everywhere
the 100 and 200 reels have ally gears, freshwater?
all 300,s have brass pinion and main.

Nice little reel Wallace, if it has been tested by you, I know it can hold its own.
Interesting about the Delrin eared washers, are you 100% sure those are Delrin? Not questioning you, just wanted to know for myself.

they are not delrin in the stack but "CERAMIC"
thank you sir,i will modify
which brings me to another question
when i got the reel new i gave it the alan tani treatment
but do the carbon fibre washers have to be greased
against the ceramic washers
i havent came across this before
i cant get near the 22lb of drag they quote
i spoke to one of their reps and he told me its
not real and just laughed
which doesnt bother me in the least.
and still we learn

ps,spoke to the rep again today about the ceramic washers and
asked about greasing them.he said they are greased by quantum
but very minimal amount. is quantum another Alan Tanti fan? yep wheeeeeeeeee!
