Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 7000C3

I have an Ambassadeur 7000C3 that needs a new right (handle side) side plate...looking on the internet, the parts houses need, what appears to be, the year model number...I dont have the original box for the reel...would the reel foot number have any pertinent information in this regard??

The reel foot number will identify the year of manufacture. The ABU code 'or system' has been through a few changes over time but if you post the foot number here there should be someone that can identify it. (I thought I understood the coding until I found out more about it) A photo of the reel always helps as well.
Out of curiosity, whats the problem with the old plate?
