Well i have been thinking about converting some 4/0s wondering Alan your opinion on the product or anyone else. Accurate side plates are sooooo hard to find and cost is crazy. The fishing i do (2-3) day trips that's all i need. wonder if they ever expanded to other penn models 140/145/146/or 505 / 3/0s. The money that would be saved i could convert more than reel versus the cost of the newer and fancier reels

in general, i think frames are nice but side plates are overkill. first, go through the drive train, starting from the handle grip to the gear sleeves to the drag system. then clean out the bearings and inside of the pinion gear and watch the spool spin like crazy.  then, sit back with a beer, add up the costs of frames, then add the cost of side plates, and look at your check book and see what your check book says back at you.
