9/0 goodies

So I get an email from my brother last week. He is getting is gear together for a trip we have and he realizes his 9/0 is in storage. He packed up and left for Texas last year on a job offer.
I tell him to relax, I will fix him one up.
Lets see what I have in the Vault.
I need the handle off this 114H and the line off another 9.

My records indicate this 1/2 frame has Black Pearl gears and double dogs.
It also has one of Bryan's seven stacks and an ss sleeve.

Now I Know where that heat treated pinion goes! An improvement Mr. Chui made to his gears.
We have come up with some really nice upgrades since I put this one together.
Adam's insert kit with Delrin under gear is the big one.
I had to go to the garage to fit the insert and some washers. Also to cut some titanium dog springs.
I got side tracked from my Neighbor and a bottle of Sailor Jerry.

I will have to put this back together later.

He hasn't landed a shark yet. I just want to make sure this reel can take some punishment.
This is just for him to use a few days.

I was about to give up again. I don't know what it is about this one. I couldn't get everything lined up without something falling out at the last minute.

Those Titanium dog springs are mighty stiff. I decided to try to and cut some more accurate versions down the road. All I need to do know is spool it and mount it on a rod.

Half Frame from Cortez Conversions

Mounted on a nice Penn Mariner 30 to 80 stand up rod.
I'm going to spool it with straight 80 lb. mono. This reel has a lot of Muscle. Hopefully it will be tested.
