What a Cow! :o
That Boomer is a fine rod. I notice he is also wearing a Black Magic Harness and Plate. That is top notch gear. Not sure what kind of reel he is using, but he definitely brought a gun to a gunfight. ;)
Life is Good!

Wow! for the rod and Wow! for the cow.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

wallacewt

oh boy!
he looks in control on that stand up gear
night into day,not far from shore and calm seas
good stuff

That's a whole lot of Tuna salad. ;D ;D

Nice rod, Jon knows tuna I can vouch for that!  And if I can get these JPEG2000 pics turned into something else I might be able to upload them and prove it!

Serious tackle for serious fish. Very nice rod and fish. Anyone know how long a battle this was?? Sooooo many things can come unbuttoned on a prolonged fight. Obviously the rod was up to the task👍🏻👍🏻😎
luck is the residue of design.

Thanks guys :)  That was a stud of a fish and they caught a few more since that one (today was their last day of fishing).

He's using a Makaira 80.  This dude doesn't mess around when it comes to tackle haha.

I think he said it was in the neighborhood of 50 minutes.  The shallow water really helps to keep these fights relatively short and allows for the fishery to be catch and release.

Gadzooks, what a catch.  A true testament to his tackle/rod/reel setup.

Jon; nice build! It's nice to see a build prove itself. That's top shelf.

Wow Jon, they're good looking and tough, reminds me of me ;D.
That's a big fish, it showed us that you're doing it right.
Great job!

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.
