If the special lube lasts a lifetime why should you have to oil them with reel oil after washing them??  ???

Shark Hunter

I fish for Big Sharks from the beach. I prep all my gear with the finest detail. From the hook to the handle, it has to be right.
I bet I spend 100 hours prepping for a 30 minute fight. It all pays off in the end.
I clean every single spec out of the rollers and apply one drop of Reel X to them.
They will be as smooth as a baby's butt.
I pay no attention to the manufacturers specs. I have my own agenda.
When you hook into a fish over 100lbs with a roller rod, you will feel every move that fish makes, Every headshake, Every pull to get away, or just a charge to the beach to try to get off. Until I drag him on the sand, the fight is not over.
If you don't have your ducks in a row and you neglect one single piece of your gear from the hook to the handle. Your time is wasted and the fish gets away.
There is no lifetime lube. No one time fix, Hours of preparation pay off in the fight.
You have to earn it, want it, and do the very best you can to accomplish it. ;)
Life is Good!

Maybe that is why so many people have problem with their gear they like to tinker. I will stick to what the manufacture says until I start having problems. They replace the rollers for life if one fails. I think the drop of oil is to satisfy the tinker that can't keep his hands off of things. I little bit is good so more should be better.
