I really like those spools. They are really strong and seem to run with less run out than the one piece spools. I fish them all the time, if the reel isn't going to be cast then I want that spool.

Sorry, late in the game on the response.
In my experience, one of the most significant things contributing to casting distance as far as the reel is concerned is spool weight. These spools are tanks, they spin well but it takes a lot to get them going and to slow them down. That can be bd casting into the wind. If I am casting I want the lightest spool I can get my hands on.
