Tried that many times.  This is the range of some drag to full lock where the white dot goes.

Harddrive, try flipping the cam around and check again, making sure when you remove and replace drag lever it is in free spool position.

Hard drive if you decide to take the reel apart again follow the tutorial video very carefully. Sometimes it takes a few times or more of disassembly to see what's really going on . Good luck
