Penn 500 w/ Reel Deal Trans

Good morning

I just picked up a 500 with a Reel Deal Transmission. I haven't received it yet but the pix look like it is almost new.

What is your opinion?  Will I be using it or will this be a 'shelf queen'?  Either is ok.
