Wondering if anyone has ever added the idler stud to a CT sideplate. I have the stud that's pressed in and the side plate has the hole already?

Can I ask why you would want to do that?

If you're attempting to convert a conventional reel to level wind, it would be far easier to just get another side plate with the stud already installed. Those studs are pressed in at the factory. I'd be afraid that any attempt to do a home install might result in irreparable damage to the plate.

Someone else may have more experience with this and be able to give you better advice.

Might be easier to swap someone a ct side plate for a cl.

Buy another reel with a level wind . It will cost more to convert the one you have than its worth.

Sorry, mine aren't that nice, but how about Simon Shimomura @ Fishy Business? He should have some.
