When Penn made left-handed reels they had to use different gear sleeve and gears - mirror images of the right-handed versions. What did they do with the head plate configuration on Senators? Does a left-handed 1st generation Senator have a 5 o'clock crank position or a 7 o'clock crank position? (the right-handed 1st gen is at 5 o'clock, so I would expect the left-handed to be at 7 o'clock, but I don't know if that's actually the case).

Thanks.

Sid, just the way you figured. They use the right plate on the left side.
